Privacy policy

The short version
EaseSpend keeps the expenses you add so you can see where your money goes. We don't sell your data, show ads, or connect to your bank or cards. Voice recordings are never stored. You can delete any record, any chat, or your whole account at any time.
What we keep
- Your account: name, email address, and your password in hashed form (we can't read it).
- Your settings: currency, language, time zone and reminder time.
- What you record: amounts, descriptions, places, categories, dates, budgets, and your own categories.
- Receipt photos and PDFs you upload, and the details read from them.
- Your chats with the assistant, including what you said or typed to add expenses.
- If you turn on reminders: your browser's notification address, so we can send them.
Who else processes your data
To turn speech into text, read expenses from what you say or type, read receipts and answer questions, EaseSpend sends that content to AI services that work on our behalf:
- Voice: your audio is streamed to Deepgram, OpenAI or Google (Gemini), depending on your language and settings, to be turned into text.
- Reading expenses and the assistant: the text of what you said or typed, with your recent records and categories for context, goes to Google (Gemini), OpenAI or DeepSeek.
- Receipts: receipt images and PDFs go to Google (Gemini) or OpenAI to read the merchant, date, items and total.
These services process the content through their business APIs under their own terms. We only send what's needed for the task, never your password.
We also use a currency service for exchange rates (no personal data is sent) and our database and hosting providers to run the app.
How long we keep it

Your choices
- Edit or delete any record, receipt or chat in the app.
- Export your records as a spreadsheet (History).
- Turn voice accuracy logs on or off in Settings.
- Delete your account in Settings. This removes your records, receipts and their files, budgets, chats, settings and signed-in devices straight away.
Keeping it safe
Connections to EaseSpend are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored with bcrypt. Only you can see your records; there are no shared or public pages.

If we change what we keep or who processes it, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
